What do you most dislike in Godot?
The PE executable format isn't easy to deal with. To modify PE data, Godot currently calls an external program called rcedit which is no longer maintained.

I think you'll need to make an .ico with the icon sizes packed in and then add that to your Windows export settings. And make sure you have rcedit loaded in the Editor settings

My thought on different engines
Godot Engine is a free and open-source game engine. The story started as an in-house engine of an Argentinian studio in 2007, and since 2014, it's been a community-driven project with a lot of contributors.
