I am making a 3D Game Engine from (almost) scratch in Go, and streaming it all live
The streams are not scripted and show the full process including learning topics and debugging problems, and the entire code is also open source and with a permissive license, hoping that one day we can build actual games with it!

My thought on different engines
Godot Engine is a free and open-source game engine. The story started as an in-house engine of an Argentinian studio in 2007, and since 2014, it's been a community-driven project with a lot of contributors.
