PySimpleGUI 4 will be sunsetted in Q2 2024
Welp, I have been messing around with a small project using PySimpleGUI using Deepseek to help me learn it. I found a cool project that has a very nice theme for 'ttk' widgets[0] which are supported in PySimpleGUI. Not sure how to proceed... I guess I will use the uncertainty to explore some of these 100% pure python web dev for shits and grins[1].

Need help with Tkinter opening up 2 windows when only 1 is expected
I've just gotten into Tkinter and I just recently found out about TTK themes. I've been using this theme and I've got a fairly basic program up. I'm making an expense manager program (and it is far from complete) and I need something basic to just test if my program is working. I will be using the theme later on though so this will still be helping as I'm experimenting with the theme and the program at the same time.

Tabs in Tkinter?
Tkinter looks different between operating systems, but I'm not an expert. Perhaps if you specify a ttk.Style or install some 3rd party theme like Sun Valley.
-
Make your Tkinter app look truly modern with a single line of code!
I'm pleased to announce that today I've released a new version of my gorgeous Sun Valley theme, with which you can make your Tkinter/ttk application look like Windows 11.

Something a bit nicer than Tkinter?
Anyway, continue to use tkinter unless you have a specific use case for using another designer, and use either CustomTkinter or tkk styles. Here's a basic one which looks pretty much native on win10: https://github.com/rdbende/Sun-Valley-ttk-theme

Black Triangles
It's fun to see the evolution in e.g. these examples of image loading for Dear Imgui:
https://github.com/ocornut/imgui/wiki/Image-Loading-and-Disp...
DirectX9 will even load the image for you, DirectX11 okay we get a few more structures to fill out, DirectX12 is where it goes off the rails and we are filling out a bunch of UNKNOWN DONT_CARE JUST_DO_IT. Then of course Vulkan is the one that gets the big fat "this probably won't actually work for you" warning.
I understand whats happening, but you know sometimes I just want to display a fucking image.

Dear ImGui: Bloat-free Graphical User interface with minimal dependencies
ImGui is engine/GPU agnostic
Themeing isn't a just a retained mode thing, you can do wonders with immediate UIs, even thought (dear)ImGui doesn't provide much, you can still do wonders: https://github.com/ocornut/imgui/issues/707#issuecomment-362...

PCSX2 Disables Wayland Support
Aside from bugs and driver issues, Wayland has some unfortunate design limitations. For example, Dear ImGui multi-viewports don't work because "Wayland doesn't let application read or write windows positions."
https://github.com/ocornut/imgui/wiki/Multi-Viewports
This is a feature available on Windows, macOS, and of course X11. Making choices like this means desktop Linux becomes even more of a weird island that nobody wants to support.
