But someone could make a plugin that uses the fbx sdk, right? Looks like people have tried. (According to the new fbx announcement, fire one of the godot contributors so maybe that was just an experiment and never actually useful.)
However, the great thing about godot, is if you want a feature, like ECS, for example just add it yourself.
