Is there anything similar to Easyrpg for RPG Maker XP?
It depends on what part of Easyrpg you're trying to replicate. If you mean that you want the games to run less crappily on modern systems, and/or you want multi-platform support, then yes. There is mkxp and mkxp-z. However, it's not exactly a plug-and-play solution, and it's something meant to be implemented by the developer of the game, rather than the players themselves.

Do's and Do Not's of releasing a game on something like steam for a few bucks?
You can use XP if you like; just use something like mkxp to get modern app behaviors.

u/d10sfan has added Linux version of RuneScape; Rigel Engine re-implementation for Duke Nukem II; Xash3D FWGS and Spirit of Half Life mod for Half-Life: Before to Luxtorpeda repos. Thanks to that, native Linux ports of those games can be played as Steam games.
