UnderworldExporter VS dxx-rebirth

It looks like the fan-made Unity port ( https://github.com/hankmorgan/UnderworldExporter/ ) used to support exporting to FBX format, but all the code in fbxExport.cpp has been commented out. And, although I have a decent amount of coding experience, I've never worked with a game engine before, and all the Unity stuff is going over my head. I simply don't know enough about what I'm doing here to modify anything.

There’s a source port for the game you can get here if that helps. But yeah that’s fair enough.

I've never used Portable, but I've had good luck with Underworld Exporter. It's a unity port primarily for underworld 1, but underworld 2 is being worked on again as of this year.

My last comment, as this thread has reminded me to do an update of quite a few games, mods and add-ons over the last day, is that there's a good-looking Unity Game Engine for Ultima Underworld 1 & 2, which I'm going to have a look at. And that's the first level of Descent. :) I literally just started a brand-new game yesterday of Descent. DX-Rebirth.

Find a remake of the game ported to a modern engine. https://www.dxx-rebirth.com/ appears to be a port of Descent 1 and 2 to the Source engine. It won't help with you running the 3DFX version, of course, but this might actually be better?

I would look at DXX rebirth, https://www.dxx-rebirth.com even if you just want to add the expansions to your steam version, you should be able to use its instructions to add the levels to your version.

Descent 2 - so long since I last played any Descent game I forgot how the experience was, but hey there's a source port!

Or if you still want to play the originals, the DXX Rebirth mods also make it easy to play on modern computers!
