Wow that really sucks. Ultima Underworld is an incredible game that 100% holds up today with the only exception being the controls, which thankfully someone has mostly fixed by adding a mouselook toggle and WASD controls: https://github.com/JohnGlassmyer/UltimaHacks (there is also a Unity port, but it has some pretty major bugs/missing features still).
