Descent was WAY ahead of its time. First fully 3D FPS ever made.
And that's the first level of Descent. :) I literally just started a brand-new game yesterday of Descent. DX-Rebirth.

32-bit software on a 64-bit OS
Find a remake of the game ported to a modern engine. https://www.dxx-rebirth.com/ appears to be a port of Descent 1 and 2 to the Source engine. It won't help with you running the 3DFX version, of course, but this might actually be better?
- What old video game would you like to see get a remake or a sequel?
-
One of the best multiplayers I grew up on.
I loved this game. You can still play it with DXX Rebirth
-
Does anyone know if the physical expansions work on the Steam versions?
I would look at DXX rebirth, https://www.dxx-rebirth.com even if you just want to add the expansions to your steam version, you should be able to use its instructions to add the levels to your version.
-
Do native Linux Games that are listed as unsupported on Steam Deck still run?
Descent 2 - so long since I last played any Descent game I forgot how the experience was, but hey there's a source port!
-
What dial up sounded like
Or if you still want to play the originals, the DXX Rebirth mods also make it easy to play on modern computers!

Is Oblivion the GOAT?
Arena: Waiting on a playable release of OpenTESArena.

Ring of Khajiit doesn't offer armour bonus with Ebony Amulet
Here's the Arena remake project, which is not using Unity but is instead a complete reimplementation using C++: https://github.com/afritz1/OpenTESArena
- Is there any way I can change the aspect ratio?

First time playing ES - questions
Here’s a good source to read first. It’ll help you set up your first character so you don’t waste much time failing again and again. I also want to jump into Arena but I’ll wait for a wholesome OpenTESArena. The controls are of the previous century making it very tiresome to play. You could also see some playthroughs on YouTube. Imo it’s worth some time to play around a bit in Arena but if you plan to move on to Daggerfall, go straight to DaggerfallUnity. Cheers and have fun. (And say goodbye to friends…)

Suggested mods to play TES Arena with nowadays?
Your options are going to be very limited, especially since OpenTESArena has not even reached Beta state yet. But TES Arena Remapped let's you play with WASD controls (you'll want to rename the mapper file to your version of DOSBox).
-
Is there an "Arena Unity"?
Nonsense. It's definitely not. The last commit is from June 2022 (https://github.com/afritz1/OpenTESArena) and the Discord Channel active with the dev itself posting quite frequently.
-
oblivitards are evolving
I reckon that'll happen a few days after OpenTESArena gets mod support.
-
TES 1 Arena Mod that makes it just like other elder scrolls games
There is no such mod as of yet, but OpenTESArena is being developped and it might provide new options modders.
-
PSA: Three older Bethesda games now free on Steam
The Elder Scrolls: Arena has an experimental Linux client with no actual gameplay yet. The version on Steam is apparently the floppy version and is lacking some features, however it does run fine through Doxbox.

Wondered why I couldn't find the newly added Elder Scrolls 2. Well done, Bethesda.
There is one, written in c++ https://github.com/afritz1/OpenTESArena
