Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Using ImGui.NET with SDL2-CS?
I'm building a mini game engine using SDL2-CS as a way to learn about things like P/Invoke. (I already have quite a bit of experience with C++ and SDL2)

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Doesn't mean it will be pretty though...

Anyone able to get SDL2 working with C#?
Download, build and add a reference to this SDL2 C# binding by @flibitijibibo: (https://github.com/flibitijibibo/SDL2-CS)

SDL2 + OpenGL in C#?
Is there a way for me to use SDL2 with OpenGL and C#? The SDL2 C# bindings I'm using don't seem to have bindings for the OpenGL commands. Honestly I just want a quick way to draw 2D primitives with fragment shaders (I don't need vertex shaders). I've worked with OpenTK, but it seems counterintuitive to mold it into a program where you wanna just make draw calls without worrying about Vertex Arrays. Is there any way for me to get access to fragment shaders in SDL2 with C#?

I need something like Pygame + PyOpenGL or LWJGL, but for C#/.NET
https://github.com/flibitijibibo/SDL2-CS for SDL

What are some good tutorials for making 2D games with C# in visual studio without a game engine?
I'd recommend using an SDL2 wrapper for C# (possibly this one) and start building your system out piece by piece. You'll learn more from this attempt than any book, course, or existing game engine could ever teach you.

Do somebody use SDL for C#?
Hi. I wrote my own little game in python. Now I'd like to do the same in C# to learn the language. Pygame is a binding of SDL so I got interested in it. I googled and found two bindings of SDL for C#: https://github.com/flibitijibibo/SDL2-CS https://github.com/babelshift/SharpDL But I see in internet that SDL is very unpopular. Do somebody of you use SDL in C# for game developing? I prefer SDL over Unity or Monogame for now, because I'd like to program as low level as possible.

Is there a real time graphics llibrary in c#

Question: How to create OpenGL C# Bindings from scratch? (Bear with me please...)
So, for example, Veldrid, a low cross-platform graphics API-agnostic rendering and compute library for .NET, has its own bindings to provide different graphics backends. How were those created? Is it a completely manual process? are tools available? How are those maintained?

Veldrid is a lower level engine that abstracts away a bunch of backends for you. Youll have to build your own pieces on top.

Is modern C# a good choice for writing a Vulkan engine?

Veldrid for graphics although I think SILK.net would also work well.

Efficient, cross-platform graphics library?
If you’re interested in C#, You could look into Veldrid. It is 3D however, so im not sure how easy it is to do 2D with it. ImGui.NET is a set of .NET bindings for Dear ImGui, which is one of the best immediate mode gui librarys out there imo. It has a canvas feature which allows you to draw 2D shapes via the gui renderer. Also, the creator of Veldrid and ImGui.NET has an example project for ImGui.NET using veldrid..

XNA vs FNA vs Monogame
Veldrid attempts to wrap several graphics api, directx11, metal, opengl, and vulkan. You would have to write most things from scratch but this lib will work cross platform. Probably not consoles though.
What are some alternatives?
OpenTK - The Open Toolkit library is a fast, low-level C# wrapper for OpenGL, OpenAL & OpenCL. It also includes windowing, mouse, keyboard and joystick input and a robust and fast math library, giving you everything you need to write your own renderer or game engine. OpenTK can be used standalone or inside a GUI on Windows, Linux, Mac.
Silk.NET - The high-speed OpenGL, OpenCL, OpenAL, OpenXR, GLFW, SDL, Vulkan, Assimp, WebGPU, and DirectX bindings library your mother warned you about.
Raylib-cs - C# bindings for raylib, a simple and easy-to-use library to learn videogames programming
ImGui.NET - An ImGui wrapper for .NET.
SharpDL - 🕹️ Sharp DirectMedia Layer (XNA-like Framework for SDL)
The-Forge - The Forge Cross-Platform Rendering Framework PC Windows, Steamdeck (native), Ray Tracing, macOS / iOS, Android, XBOX, PS4, PS5, Switch, Quest 2
raylib - A simple and easy-to-use library to enjoy videogames programming
Win2D - Win2D is an easy-to-use Windows Runtime API for immediate mode 2D graphics rendering with GPU acceleration. It is available to C#, C++ and VB developers writing apps for the Windows Universal Platform (UWP). It utilizes the power of Direct2D, and integrates seamlessly with XAML and CoreWindow.
Metalkons-Slots - Slot machine game in the console
Helix Toolkit - Helix Toolkit is a collection of 3D components for .NET.
