    reddit.com/r/chia | 2021-10-14
The 25 word was a bug that was fixed in 1.2.7, if anyone is wondering: https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/releases/tag/1.2.7
  • Anyone get a corrupted database from Windows rebooting their machine?
    reddit.com/r/chia | 2021-10-13
I'm trying to get a feel for if the recent change to sqlite options would affect users this way. There's an issue that was opened a little while ago on github, but since a fix has been merged (but not released), there hasn't been movement on it. I don't run windows, so I don't know what would happen if it restarted for an updated when running chia
  • Today, the electricity in my house stopped for a while. When I turn on the computer, in NODE all my plots are missing, all my farm is gone in the list, also gives me error 22.One of my hard drives is a "ghost" in the list with the others drives and I can't open it.

Once your client is caught up, go modify the source code to change all the instances of pragma synchronous=OFF to pragma synchronous=NORMAL and viola, no more db corruption after a crash. There was a rather lengthy discussion about this on github. The change to make sqlite crash consistent again is merged, but the chia team has not cut a new release that includes the changes

  • Finding OG vs. pool plots with the CLI
    reddit.com/r/chia | 2021-10-06
Never execute scripts you don't understand! Don't trust me, check everything yourself first! This outputs all OG plots added to your harvester. It uses RPC to communicate with your harvester (https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/wiki/RPC-Interfaces). It pipes the output to jq (sudo apt install jq) and filters and outputs all OG plots. It's more efficient doing it this way, as this doesn't check all your plots, which can be time consuming.
  • HDDcoin 1.2.5 Release
Updated HDDcoin CLI and GUI from v1.2.1 to upstream Chia v1.2.5-dev, which incorporates many fixes, new class methods to improve ease of use and many changes to improve performance -- including support for multiple wallets, improvements to sync speed by allowing concurrency in downloading and validating blocks, display of version number in GUI when installed with install-gui.sh script, adding many new translations, and ensuring that files are written with the proper permissions when creating SSL certificate & private key files. (Complete list of upstream improvements too many to mention here. Please visit https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md for details of changes in Chia v1.2.2, v1.2.3, v1.2.4 and v1.2.5 releases).

  • sqlite3.DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed
    reddit.com/r/chia | 2021-10-05
Most likely due to a rather unsafe change to SQLite's settings made in the name of performance for the 1.2.8 release. May want to look at this Github issue.

  • new release & update FOMO vs. relaxed chia farming
    reddit.com/r/chia | 2021-10-03
And yes, update 1.2.8 gives a one-off longer start-up time for the node, most probably due to: "Added plot memo caching in PlotManager, speeding initial loading and cached loading, by enabling harvester to save the parsed plot memo on disk on shutdown, then load it back into memory on startup so that it can skip key parsing calculations for all already known plots." https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/releases/tag/1.2.8 meaning that you make a one-off trade for 1 slow init, versus lifetime faster init.
