Binaural, 3D audio for 2 element headphones
https://github.com/kosumosu/x3daudio1_7_hrtf i used to use this with skyrim. a few audio mods are incompatible and make some sounds louder than they should be. but over all it's pretty great, i could pinpoint shoot enemies with a bow (no magnetic arrows) in tall grass, just by hearing them. most surround sound headphones do nothing more than this, just on a driver based level. VR games have 3D audio from the get go.

https://github.com/kosumosu/x3daudio1_7_hrtf is hella nice in Skyrim, but you can't use it in multiplayer games because the vast majority use EasyAntiCheat or BattleEye. The sounds in Squad are good, but their placement and lack of any filter for front/back or high/low is really apparent coming from other games.

Immersive audio option, is it worth it?
I honestly prefer X3daudio hrtf by kosumosu, the sound clarity is better and I think it has different quality to rear sounds than to the front but eh, it could be placebo, or heck, the recent sound engine changes could've broken it. It'd be easy to do a comparison video without the server queues I guess. It's been featured on the main subreddit before.

Is the directional audio really bad or is it on my end?
It won't fix high/low I've been suggesting something like https://github.com/kosumosu/x3daudio1_7_hrtf for a while. Hesuvi is essentially the same thing as DTS Headphone X, Dolby Atmos, etc. Just has a lot more choices for what filter you want.

what annoys you most while using c++?
No, that has indeed solved it for me. But the first time I encountered it, my friend and I spent quite awhile debugging the problem. Almost 2 hours, I believe. We still have an open issue about that one.

Has anybody gotten the SoLoud audio library working with MSVC 2019?
Hey folks, I've migrated a project from MSVC 2017 to 2019, and for the life of me cannot get SoLoud to run without crashing. Here is a link to a more descriptive description of the problem I'm having. I've stripped my project down to the following, and I'm still getting crashes:
