Finally figured out how to work Hex-Grids properly and made my own Map Generator!
Yes, you are correct. The coordinate system is indeed axial. I read the redblob article and used this library/demo based on the redblob article (https://github.com/romlok/godot-gdhexgrid)

Best pratices for a Hexgame implementation?
Additionnaly to redblobgames's guide others mentionned, romlok already made an implementation of redblobgames's math into godot's GDScript : https://github.com/romlok/godot-gdhexgrid It works great, you don't have to use it but I guess studying the mechanics could help if you want to rewrite it in python. You get almost everything hex related : distances, barriers, path finding, directions, etc.

Instead, I was recommended Godot by a fellow developer. It is an easy-to-pickup and beginner-friendly open-source engine, which I will use to develop the Tetris game.

Ask HN: Yo wants to build a game, I'm lost. What can I do?
Godot [1] is a very nice game engine. There's a game on Itch.io that teaches the scripting language it uses [2], and a ton of great tutorials on YouTube for beginners and experts alike.

My thought on different engines
Godot Engine is a free and open-source game engine. The story started as an in-house engine of an Argentinian studio in 2007, and since 2014, it's been a community-driven project with a lot of contributors.
