Thanks for giving it a read! I wrote 'WebRTC for the Curious' when on paternity leave. Wasn't able to finish it before went back. These days I have been more sucked in with https://github.com/pion/webrtc work.

Right, I've been looking at https://github.com/pion/webrtc and its smaller bits. Landed on https://github.com/pion/sdp, looks approachable and can be improved. Coordinate this through slack maybe?

WebRTC is complicated, it can be frustrating to get into!

If you have a chance take a look at https://webrtcforthecurious.com it is a CC0/Free book I am writing. Would love your opinion and if it helped at all. I also try and write https://github.com/pion/webrtc in a way that others can learn from it. I put all the specific tech in different repos so people can see the big picture.

I am so excited to finally post this! This release was a lot harder then I anticipated, but it is finally here.

There is a lot of really great things, but the things that got me the most excited were.

    * pion/interceptor[3] so users can bring their own algorithms and learn.

    * SRTP AEAD_AES_128_GCM seeing a 400% performance increase was amazing.

    * Track's as interfaces. Gets us an API that feels exactly like the browser with getUserMedia.

If people have any questions/thoughts would love to talk about Pion and answer anything people are curious about!

Pion is awesome! Thanks for creating it, u/Sean-Der. I've been researching open-source WebRTC servers for the past several days for a new project I'm starting, and yesterday I downloaded and tried Go for the first time in order to compile and tweak Pion's RTP-to-WebRTC demo. I did a lot of research into alternatives (like Janus, Mediasoup, G-Streamer, and Kurento), but there are several things that I really like about Pion:

We have pion-to-pion for DataChannels, but nothing that does it for media. I would love to throw one in a gist if that helps.
