Gaming on Linux
CS is native on Linux, and Steam has great support either way for native/Proton gaming. For all others, Lutris is your best bet. From my experience, Bnet games work fine on Linux via Lutris.
If you have a game and want to know if that will work, check ProtonDB for any game on Steam. Otherwise check the games in the Lutris database. It's best to read some comments from other users if the rating isn't completely perfect. So maybe they will help you using some tweaks in rare cases to make it run even if it won't start out of the box.

Many questions, I apologise
I have been primarily on linux for around a year now. Gaming: Use Pop! OS with the following - STEAM (Most games work alright, some native linux versions are buggy, if you notice this just force proton in the compatibility options under "Properties" for the game. Other than that check Protondb.com for tips on getting a game working that is giving you issues.) - Glorious Eggroll Proton versions (You can use these in both steam and lutris or heroic games launcher) - Lutris (lutris.net has a great number of games and install scripts that will setup relevant wine/proton things for you when you want to run things that are not on steam) - Heroic games launcher is like an EPIC launcher

Can't get Trackmania 2020 to run in WINE anymore (Linux)
Using Lutris to run the Trackmania 2020 installer in a separate prefix (with independent configuration settings).

Is there any scenes who pirate games for Linux?
There are games for Linus, see my other comment. To run windows games on Linux first search for "Game name" + "Winehq" to see if the game runs. Then sometimes the is a lutris.net for the game that contains a preconfigured wine setting to make the game run better so they might help you.
- Is Arch good for gaming?

Running old Windows XP games
I always recommend Lutris to be able to easily manage your games in multiple wine prefixes.

Should I game on Windows, or Linux?
Playing Windows video games on linux has improved massively since the last four years and the only that holds it back is shitty DRM & lowlevel Anticheats. Check https://protondb.com for Steam- and https://lutris.net for other games.

How do i run windows games?
There's also tools like Lutris that can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you, as long as an install script exists for the game you're trying to install. Lutris makes it very easy to do, but there's still some games that just don't work.

Tale As Old As Time
Wine and dxvk nowdays delivers close to windows performance even outperforming native ports essentially I can just press install on most games and performance will be fine even big AAA games like the witcher 3. But this has only happened since dxvk. https://www.protondb.com/ https://lutris.net/
