My suggestion is you download windows terminal: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal And install Ubuntu on WSL: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10 That way, you have access to *everything* (methods / protocols / scripts / packages) that are available for Ubuntu, which is where most tutorials are aimed at.

It's pretty good in most cases except when there is a large amount of output being displayed, in which case it becomes totally unusable and unresponsive to Ctrl-C (can take 10-30 seconds to break, compared to < 1 in pretty much any Linux terminal).

• [Start] > "Windows Terminal" > get one. Win + R > "wt" > get other with different settings.

It persists. It's not the built-in so called Acrylic which has this nonsense behavior you mentioned but an AHK one, find the AHK script here, it's just amazing: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/1753#issuecomment-778649347

I don't know why. I just seem to hate macOS and Linux. I started using Windows since I was 4 years old and I still don't have any major complaints. In fact they are already addressing my minor complaints with Windows Terminal, PowerToys and WinGet
• How to make windows terminal fully transparent?
Doesn't appear to be possible: here's the GitHub issue. Someone at that link has created an AutoHotKey script which seems to do what you want, though.

Or might even be better than all Linux Terminals. I particularly looking forward to https://github.com/PowerShell/PSReadLine/issues/1362 and https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/3121 to be implemented together.

WT is a Terminal. Linux is a kernel. I don't understand how they can be compared
• Windows Terminal Preview with AHK-hacked transparency (why: built-in Acrylic transparency didn't make it, script below)
reddit.com/r/windows | 2021-02-14
Background: The new Windows Terminal is very promising despite a broken transparency feature. It only allows some weird, buggy Acrylic transparency (changes on focus, only blurry, ignores tabs, headers and more), so cblake777 and munael at Github came up with some great AHK/ scripts: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/1753#issuecomment-778649347

> If you, say, Ctrl+C to cancel compilation, you will get the infamous “Terminate batch job (Y/N)?” prompt which interferes with other programs running in the same console.

Someone has recently discovered a workaround for this issue: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/217#issuecommen...
