Moved some photos to “shared library”, it seems to have changed their dates so they all show as if they were taken when I moved them. Which is a bit annoying.

  • exiftool

    ExifTool meta information reader/writer

  • Not sure what the problem is. I've not used Shared Library yet so can't comment on how well it works/doesn't work. However, if the date really did get changed and the date in the EXIF metadata is correct as you indicated below then the free open source tool osxphotos might help. osxphotos is sort of a multitool command line utility for working with Photos. It includes a timewarp tool to bulk adjust the date/time/timezone of photos. In your case, select a couple of the affected photos to test then try this command after installing osxphotos as well as exiftool

  • osxphotos

Python app to work with pictures and associated metadata from Apple Photos on macOS. Also includes a package to provide programmatic access to the Photos library, pictures, and metadata.
