If not #1, but you know the approximate dates by DVD you could copy the photos to your Mac then set the date using exiftool from the command line (Terminal.app). Assuming the date taken was 2012-01-13, you could do the following after copying the files to the Mac. Let's assume you copied to Desktop/PhotosToImport
Import to Photos then set the time. I'm the author of a free open-source command line tool osxphotos that includes a timewarp command to batch-adjust the date and/or time and/or timezone of photos.

- Moved some photos to “shared library”, it seems to have changed their dates so they all show as if they were taken when I moved them. Which is a bit annoying.
