Had fun adding custom avatars to my game e.g https://github.com/goblinhack/zorbash/blob/master/pics/pixelart/screenshot.3.png I mean it adds nothing to the game, but it's fun fluff :)

Continuing work on top of Navni. So far I'm very happy with how the reasonably minimal interface seems to cover what I need. I'm working on a software composition library on top of the flat pixel buffer Navni works with to set up building blocks for an immediate mode GUI. Idea is to split the screen into rectangular sub-canvases that look similar to the entire screen, datatype-wise, and write draw functions that assume they need to fill the entire canvas they're given.

So now navni is public, and provides the surprisingly rare function of supporting both TTY and virtual terminal rendering with the exact same API. So if you're making a textmode game, you can use navni as a backend and it'll work in Linux native terminal, desktop and in WASM, and if you're making a low-resolution pixel art game, you can also use navni and have it run on desktop and WASM.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing zorbash and navni you can also consider the following projects:
sorcery - An open source remake/remaster of the classic CRPG Wizardry, Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord.
revengate
golem - A roguelike game about modular bodies.
