- [DCS VR] How to force Enable Open XR in DCS world 2.8 easiest way (Reverb G2)
- I’ve recently started playing dcs with an quest 2 VR headset, and I find that especially in dogfight situations I’m cracking my head turning around. Is there a setting that I can use to turn more in game without having to turn my head as much, while still using the headset to look around?

Now that I’ve joined the dark side, I figured to ask: What’s the one thing you most wish you knew when you first started flying in VR?
The VR neck saver mod is very useful. I believe this link will take you to a download: https://gitlab.com/NobiWan/vrnecksafer/-/tree/master/VRNeckSafer/Release

Adjusting pilot head position(forward/backward) while using head tracking
You could try something like Necksafer but I think it only works with VR: https://gitlab.com/NobiWan/vrnecksafer

VRNeckSafer Setup for Dummies
I have installed the program and followed instructions per the readme: https://gitlab.com/NobiWan/vrnecksafer and also watched a couple of videos on YouTube pertaining to setting up VRNeckSafer in IL2, no joy.

Real injuries while flying
If you are using a headset other than Index, VR Neck Safer is something you might be interested in. Since the dev doesn't have an Index they can't properly debug issues with Index

Pimax Client is now HERE!
Right here:) You probably also want OpenXR-toolkit, and maybe OpenComposite to replace SteamVR entirely.

Pimax wont load DCS
Download and install OpenXR Toolkit from https://github.com/mbucchia/OpenXR-Toolkit/releases. Optional but allows for extra performance tweaking.

How many of you play in VR?
WARNING here! You want to have Motion Projection Enabled in both OpenXR AND in ToolKit if you want to avoid a bug, I posted on the official OpenXR Toolkit github. IF you are a motion reprojection user, and you don't have these both enabled, it will "stealth disable" your motion reprojection completely if you ever exit VR and re-enter VR (using CTRL-TAB) without closing down MSFS and starting it up again.

Openxr and VR neck safer
On Gitlab, the VRNeckSafer developer stated that he uses a function to perform the rotation that's not currently available for use in OpenXR...he hopes that it will be added to the OpenXR Toolkit at some point, but while they will consider it it's low on their priority list.

Does OpenXR provide DIY controller API, or is something else needed?
You can override the behavior of the OpenXR runtime to make it use your own controller inputs via an API Layers. This is something that my OpenXR Toolkit project does, where I translate input from a Leap Motion hand tracking device into simulated VR controller inputs.
What are some alternatives?
