What tool do you use for level design?
I personally use Qodot: https://github.com/QodotPlugin/qodot-plugin since my skill with Blender is just OK, it makes building low-poly interiors very easy, and my game has a retro low-poly look to it.

not enjoying Godot
There's the Qodot plugin for godot, which lets you import quake maps. I think the workflow would be pretty similar to the of source. Might wanna check that out.

Always good to WhiteBox to see how things feel. Any rapid iteration tips you folks can share?
The yellow rectangles are just a Godot MeshInstance with a cube mesh applied and stretched with a yellow grid texture applied to it. The rest of the level was made in TrenchBroom, a Doom / ID engine level editor and then imported and compiled in Godot using Qodot with a gray grid texture applied

What software do you consider to be the best for creating terrains? (L3DT, Blender, WB..)
Nobody use qodot https://github.com/QodotPlugin/qodot-plugin ? I find it pretty simple. If you don't use it, tell me why and what are the pro of your alternative. Thanks.

Quake Remastered Review - Quake turned 25 and got a face lift
The gameplay models aren't Nightdive's original work, they are from a dev at Mojang. I'm not exactly sure if those models were created by him or if they were taken from HERE and then updated though.

Turns out that the best Quake remake/reboot was just a Quake 1 re-release
The new models are suspiciously similar to freely available models from github that have been out for over a year.
