[FNV] Body Replacer Skin Glitch (Roberts Male Body Mod)
Nifskope can also be useful for viewing your nif files so you don’t have to load the game for each test. You do have to set up the resource directories in settings though.

🐉⚔️ Craft Your Legend: AI-Powered Weapon Skin Generator Mod Concept for Skyrim - Seeking Your Expert Opinions 🤔💥
Another thing is how textures are handled in the game. Essentially Skyrim models are kept in .nif files, which, as far as I know, is also an engine-specific filetype. Textures are linked to models via setting the path within those .nif files. Nifskope is the tool you're going to want to interface with those files. I'm afraid that's essentially as much as I can tell you regarding this side of modding - as mentioned, never really dealt with it myself.

Get the morrowind blender plug-in and a compatible version of blender and import the model. I suggest importing a head, helmet or even just the xbase_anim.nif skeleton from the morrowind game files as well so you can compare sizes (if you’re just adding a helm). It took me a bit to make it look good in game. Once you do that and have the plugin enabled, export it as a Morrowind .nif and open it up in Nifskope to make sure the mesh is correctly imported and has textures applied (choose them in Nifskope if they don’t appear). Then you move to the construction kit and add it as a bodypart/armor.

What is the name of this texture file?
In-game, use More Informative Console to get the name of the object NIF file. Use the Filter in the MO2 Data tab to locate the NIF file in the mod folder. Open the NIF with NifSkope and find the Texture Set definition, which will name the texture files. The MO2 Data tab can also be used to locate those texture files.

(SSE) How to extract player character or NPC models?
I wish you the best of luck with your ideas, the character meshes are an absolute pain to work with because they're in .nif files, which are a proprietary format. I still haven't quite figured out how to wrangle them myself. But definitely grab Nifskope which can view models. There's also a plugin for Blender that loads in NIF files but it doesn't work with NIF files from Special Edition. So you gotta downgrade them with SSE NIF Optimizer if you want to import them into Blender. I hope this saves you the hours of research I had to do to figure all that out!

How to use nifskope without using braincells?
I would try DL again, ( https://github.com/niftools/nifskope/releases ), and just put it on your desktop and play it safe.

Mesh exceeds polycount for retopoflow? I downloaded it a few days ago and bummed that it won't work or slow down blender. Has anyone experienced this?
here’s the link I saw that at. What do you think?
-
Just tell it to me straight - is there any way I can save this topology or do I need to start over?
https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow You can get it off Github for free if you're using it for educational purposes
-
What is your preferred method for making this high poly tree model's low poly version?
you can try it out for free to see if you like it https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow/releases

Is this a good way to retopologize? For anyone who's curious, this is the Grand Inquisitor.
I think the best program for this would be RetopoFlow 3. You can buy it here: https://blendermarket.com/products/retopoflow/. You can also get it free here: https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow. It's not automatic, but it's capable of really cleaning up models. The free version is released by the same people that make the paid version, you just don't get support from them if you get it from their GitHub instead of buying it.
-
During retopology, i did all the settings, backface culling, mesh visibility to front also modifiers like shrinkwrap and displacement. but the problem
Use Retopoflow addon. It's free on github. Also in my opinion it's better than Maya's quad draw
-
is there anyway to retopo without using Infront / Backface Culling in Blender ? without using paid addons
Retopoflow can be downloaded for free on GitHub https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow

PSA: All mesh creators should learn this to Optimize their models
PSA: Retopoflow is also completely free on the developer's github page, you just dont get any customer support with this version. https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow
- I'm trying to do retopology but the wrap I'm creating keeps overlapping and going inside the mesh. Can someone please help me stop this?
-
Resistance is futile
The same applies to anything that links to Blender code, including its Python modules. This means the same policy applies to all add-ons. For instance Retopoflow, which is ~$90 if you buy it, can be accessed for free on GitHub with no restrictions
- This is probably a bad time to show these off, but I have learned how to make Bionicle avatars!
