    Also, I'll mention that the number one feature I'd be looking for in a GUI toolkit is robust layout code. There are about 15 different libraries that will let me paste rectangular textures on the screen at some concrete coordinates and get clicks from them. There's basically zero lightweight libraries that will robustly lay out (and re-lay-out) dynamically-sized components. The libraries that come closest are things like nanogui, which has layout code, but it's so bad I've rewritten our fork's version at least twice. To get real UI layout, we invariably have to go to something like GTK or Qt.
