- I left Emacs and Org-Mode 8 months ago and switched to more modern note-taking tools. But yesterday I came back to it, and now I feel at home.

Add quick sketches in emacs org mode

Embed excalidraw in Emacs?
https://github.com/misohena/el-easydraw is a cool proof of concept, but on installing it was practically unusable for me. Probably some setting on the preview size made the canvas too small, and the mouse did not line up with the icons to add things to the canvas. Still, amazing this is even possible!

Initial Thoughts On A New Productivity Tool
I had not thought of this. I found this editor as well which looks promising. I’ll try it out.

I am kinda surprised there is not a huge FOSS competitor in the PDF "Annotation" field
And with org-noter one can easily interface with org-mode, and then maybe some more.

emacs version of Microsoft Access?
For the buttons, check excellent svg-toolbar. Check also other libraries by Rougier, for example his recently released helper for dialogs, svg-icons, etc.

Initial Thoughts On A New Productivity Tool
Yes, he also uses svg to render a canvas and images. You can also check work by Rougier (/u/nicolas-rougier), he usually anounces his stuff in /r/emacs. He has done a lot with svg, check his svg-lib and svg-icons.

AskEmacs: How to use Material Design (community) icons?
A potential solution without font is to create icons on the fly. See https://github.com/rougier/emacs-svg-icon
- emacs-svg-icon: An emacs library to create SVG icons on the fly
- [ANN] A small package to create (SVG) icons on the fly (from online collections) that fit exactly 2x1 characters.
