Yes, he also uses svg to render a canvas and images. You can also check work by Rougier (/u/nicolas-rougier), he usually anounces his stuff in /r/emacs. He has done a lot with svg, check his svg-lib and svg-icons.

The 'material design' community has designed a large set of visually consistent icons (https://materialdesignicons.com/), and I'd like to use them in Emacs. Unfortunately, I am not able to do so. I'm using Material Design Icons for most of my icons. Note, this is not the same as the material design icons from google. They have a full list of available icons here.
