So How do I set up Multiplayer in my 2D game?
Have a look at https://www.photonengine.com/# Or the "new" built in thing from unity itself https://docs-multiplayer.unity3d.com/ (on the last link you find an example project "boss room" that shows how to implement multiplayer. When playing over the internet, you must "just" specify the correct host)

Making a game takes time, and it took us 6 years. We made this multiplayer sports game in which you can score goals using various abilities and imaginations, let us know what you think!
We used dedicated servers from Unity, as outlined on Unity's official website https://docs-multiplayer.unity3d.com/

Are there any open-source code bases or tutorials available on how to organize a large code base in Unity?
They have their code available here. I don't have any others, though. Hoping others will chime in on this thread with more!

Package manager url problem
URL: https://github.com/Unity-Technologies/com.unity.multiplayer.samples.coop.git?path=/Packages/com.unity.multiplayer.samples.coop#main I get this from unity netcode docs.

Just want to know how feasible this 2 month project idea is. I’m using the Unity engine.
That's a question you should ask your programmers after they skimmed the documentation of multiplayer in Unity, not random people on the Internet.

Will Unity still be viable in 2 years? 5 years?
Multiplayer is not directly part of the engine. Unity has their own services for multiplayer, but there is no rule that says you have to use it. In fact when I started most people where using Photon, because Unity didn't have their own service at the time.

need help updating transform position plz
You'd have to dig into the multiplayer offerings.

Open source with good architechture?
You could check out the Unity demo apps, like Boss Room. The newer demos from 2022 aren't on GitHub yet.

N64 Games Only Allow 1 Controller Online
When you play any kind of real-time online multiplayer game, it is physically impossible for all players to have the same view of the world. As a result, approximations have to be made, for example by extrapolating other player positions. There is plenty of research on this subject, and most modern games do a pretty good job. But when you add a second local player, things get a lot more complicated.

I'm looking for software with no encrypted traffic
Are there games that you could find and analyze? I wonder if old school games (or their multiplayer lobby servers) would be easy targets (I'm pretty sure a buddy said the Tribes 2 server protocol was really basic, but I could be very wrong.) A list of resources I found: https://github.com/MFatihMAR/Game-Networking-Resources

How did you learn how to make a dedicated server for a multiplayer game? Books? Tutorials? University?

Is there any decent MMO/persistent world server platform, or should I just write my own server?
As this is a "side hobby project", and not your main thing, you're probably better off making your own server (but use a networking library and another other helpful libraries you can find). A starting point: https://github.com/MFatihMAR/Game-Networking-Resources

Should I make the game itself first, or the networking?
