Odd Issue with Automated Animations
Honestly, I've never seen an issue like that. If nobody here can help, you could take your question either to the JB2A Discord, where Automated Animations has a specific section that Otigon runs, or the AA Github.
-
Does anyone know of a replacement for the module Maestro?
This can definitely be done with Sequencer but it isn't necessarily going to be the easiest thing in the world. Automated Animations might also help, but I haven't used it in a while.

Handy 5e Modules List
automated-jb2a-animations - At its core, Automated Animations is centered around the use of "instant" effects such as Weapon Attacks and Spell Effects. There are some areas that branch off from this concept and will be explained in the Wiki.

An example of making a pathfinder 2e weapon with runes and runes with effects like flaming?
For visual effects only, I use JB2A Animations and then link to the attacks using Automated Animations which then play various animations when the actions are triggered. You have to change the animation selected if the item changes (from "sword" to "flaming sword" for example) but that shouldn't happen a lot

Customizing Automated Animations
Hey, the Automated Animations module from Otigon has now an automatic recognition menu in its settings where you can set a spell effect or attack animation linked to its name. A-A automatic recognition example video In the video, I add an entry called Talon so any item with the name Talon will pick up this animation (except if I create another one specifically called Talon Strike for example) On the Automated Animations Github, there is some very good information about it including a great wiki Otigon is very active on our JB2A Discord and our community can help answering questions you may have. :)

Any sources for animated THINGS? - Not maps
JB2A has a lot of animated spell effects. Not so much animated things though. You can get some of them for free, but I think most are available through Patreon.
- Is there a better way to have magic effect tokens move with character, e.g. spirit guardians?

None-spherical light?
I would keep my eye on Advanced Spell Effects by Vauryx. He does some pretty amazing things in setting up some of these more mechanically complicated spells to be fully functional. He recently added a couple Wall spells to the repertoire and while Wall of Light isn't in there yet he has said that more are on the way now that he has the foundations of wall mechanics figured out. He has a couple dedicated channels in the JB2A Discord where he posts updates and whatnot.

Demon Summoning Gone Right
What you can do is go to their Github at https://github.com/Jules-Bens-Aa/JB2A_DnD5e and then download the zip file. All of the animations are in the zip and they are simply .webm files that you can import as tiles in any system. (Or assign as token art, etc.)
