Another look at TMDB-Helper Players for Kodi 19.5 and 20
I took a bit of time to take a second look at the players issue for TheMovieDb-Helper in Kodi 19.5 and 20. It seems the problem exists with all Exodus fork add-ons and Fen. Venom fork add-ons work, as do Shadow fork add-ons. Old fen fork add-ons like Ezra work and The Crew works as well. I am guessing it has something to do with how the add-ons connect to their external scraper modules but that's just my loose theory for now. New Kodi is blocking something from happening. It's an issue that happened after 19.4 and before 19.5 (a 19.4 nightly update). This issue might be found in the 19.5 change logs but I currently don't have the patience to sift though all that code and may not even figure it out anyway. https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/compare/19.4-Matrix...19.5-Matrix

ALL-INCLUSIVE KODI GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS - Movie and TV Streaming from Scratch
Being a media player, you can simply download the app from their website kodi.tv and install it. I would recommend their latest stable release V19.5 (Matrix). Third party addons have to be updated by their creators to work with the latest Kodi versions, so it is not recommended to keep Kodi up-to-date everytime a new version comes out as it can break installed addons that haven't been updated. v19.5 will work with all the addons we need. I wouldn't recommend pre-release v20 (Nexus) just yet.

Sound like you could give https://kodi.tv/ a try. There are also several forks. It should be possible todo all the things you described with the help of plug-ins.

Watching TV in the evening, but everything is so bloody dark and 'atmospheric' half the time I'm just sat there watching a reflection of a fat bloke sat on my sofa with a weird soundtrack.
I mentioned using LibreElec (a few times) in my earlier post mainly because I prefer to view videos on a larger screen* plus it has the advantage of not tying up my computer and as already mentioned, the YouTube ad-on doesn't show ads but you don't have to use LibreElec to make use of the media application that LibreElec uses which is called Kodi as that exists as an application in its own right and can be installed on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, Apple devices
