  • A guide on how to report players, from personal experience
So let's get the basics down. To file a report, you need evidence. Not just any evidence, mind you: video evidence. So, here's the first don't for this list. Don't use Roblox's built-in video recording feature. It might seem easy and convenient, but that comes at a cost. Video quality is drastically reduced. Generally speaking, if you're going to report to someone for toxic behavior, it happens in the chat. If you're trying to report a hacker, the name of the player who's hacking might be blurred out. This is because the video quality is quite poor, so everything important about your submitted evidence will be all but legible. There are quite a few easy solutions to this issue, but I can give you two. The first one might not seem simple but is fairly trivial once you get the hang of things. Take screenshots of evidence and stitch everything together in free editing software. If you're using Windows 10, you can use the Photos app as editing software. Although there are still mirrors for the older version of Windows Movie Maker that could be downloaded for Windows 7, none of them are official, and some might be suspect. Export your video, upload it to YouTube, file your report, and you're good. The second solution is to get a free screen recorder and use that to capture your evidence. The top three that come to mind are OBS, Bandicam, and ShareX. If you're not technically proficient, go with Bandicam. The free version of Bandicam limits you to ten minutes and will stick a watermark over your footage, but for the purpose of capturing evidence, it's sufficient, and the video quality should be good enough for your report to be readable. OBS can take quite some time to get used to, and ShareX requires FFMpeg libraries to capture your screen; still, if you can work your way around either, they're recommended. Now you need to upload your evidence. Here's the first do for this list: do use YouTube to upload your reports. Stylis is pretty picky with where you upload them, and, generally speaking, it's the best option. Make sure your upload is set to unlisted, so it's viewable with the link but not out in the public eye so the offender knows you've reported them.
  • Anyone know why the chat box keeps triggering when I’m playing? | 2021-06-06
Can you use screenshots rather than photos? I can't see what you're talking about. The windows snipping tool should work, but ShareX is awesome and what I still use. Hit a hotkey, select the area you want screenshotted, it'll take the screenshot, upload it to where you want it (like imgur) and copy the URL to your clipboard so all you need to do is paste it.
