  • Modded games are the true last hurdle for Linux gaming
It is "trivial to run different programs in the game's prefix, in addition to the running game" (either in parallel or the the custom program first or only the custom program instead of the game exe - see wiki) using steamtinkerlaunch
  • All games sharing the same steamuser directory? | 2021-04-07
No idea if this covers everything you want, but steamtinkerlaunch has an option to back up all steamuser files automatically (using rsync) on game-end. Also, it creates game-title symlinks to all compdata/$SteamAppId directories, so specific proton WINEPREFIXES can be found easily without steam/steamtinkerlaunch by just looking into ~/.config/stl/compdata/
  • ProtonDB scraper extension for steam
YES, that sounds very promising! Thanks for your work! Would be great if I find a way to implement it into steamtinkerlaunch to auto-apply found settings.
  • Easy support for custom yad binaries added - system wide yad no longer required!
  • Added support for 32bit container Conty
Seems to work pretty well, is working with zero config, but still has multiple configuration options implemented in steamtinkerlaunch.
  • Virtual Desktop for Linux?
btw, if you're going to use Stereo3D with vr-video-player, you might want to check my steamtinkerlaunch which simplifies/automates this a lot (also in AUR as stable and git package)
  • Is there a quick and easy way to ensure all steam games launch with specified parameters?
afaik no but there is a script I know which automates this you might be also interested in Steam Tinker Launch

Checkput SteamTinkerLanch. In my case, I was able to launch upto 5.0 but from 5.13, as the steam soldier runtime is used, I tried to install it but every time I install it, it only downloads 0 bytes. So I shifted to SteamTinkerLaunch
