Is there a comprehensive, ranked list out there for things that make SM lag?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on reddit.com/r/ScrapMechanic

Our great sponsors
  • Scout APM - Truly a developer’s best friend
  • Sonar - Write Clean C++ Code. Always.
  • Zigi - The context switching struggle is real
  • InfluxDB - Build time-series-based applications quickly and at scale.
  • Bullet

Bullet Physics SDK: real-time collision detection and multi-physics simulation for VR, games, visual effects, robotics, machine learning etc.

Note that this is all speculation based on my experience with lag and coding physics engines. I have not read the source code of the physics engine. Although the code made by Axolot is closed-source, they have said that they use the Bullet physics engine. You could get some more info by reading up on how that works.

  • Scout APM

Truly a developer’s best friend. Scout APM is great for developers who want to find and fix performance issues in their applications. With Scout, we'll take care of the bugs so you can focus on building great things 🚀.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
