rust-gpu-compute-example
Minimal example of using rust-gpu and wgpu to dispatch compute shaders written in rust.
I'm very happy to see some life returning to the project! There have been some some PRS sitting unreviewed for over a year, such as this one, and I was worried the project may have been somewhat abandoned. Are you able to comment on the status of those PRs? Specifically #819 is of interest to the Graphite project since we need better support for Rust's type system, as our goal is to write image processing effects for our node-based compositor as Rust functions which can compile to both the CPU and GPU. Currently the type system is one limitation we are facing, so I hope we can see better compute shader support in the near future! Thank you for this valuable contribution to the Rust ecosystem which is one of the core underpinnings for Graphite's tech foundation. We'd also be delighted to collaborate more closely since our project, I believe, is very closely aligned with Embark's goals and I'm certain we will cross-pollinate once our project gets closer to the beta and release stages of maturity. Maybe we should have a chat in Embark's Discord #rust-gpu channel if that's of interest to your folks? Thanks ♥.
