WebRTC for the Curious: Go beyond the APIs

Project mention: Show HN: OpenAI-realtime-embedded-SDK Build AI assistants on microcontrollers | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-12-18

    Hi HN!

This is an SDK for ESP32s (microcontrollers) that runs against OpenAI's new WebRTC service [0] My hope is that people can easily add AI to lots of 'real' devices. Wearable devices, speakers around the house, toys etc... You don't have to write any code, just buy a device and set some env variables.

If you have any feedback/questions I would love to hear! I hope this kicks off a generation of new interesting devices. If you aren't familiar with WebRTC it can do some magical things. Check out WebRTC for the Curious[1] and would love to talk about all the cool things that does also.

I’ve been taking part in Hacktoberfest for a few years now, and every time, I’m amazed by how much the community can achieve together. A couple of years ago, we wrote the 101 Linux Commands eBook entirely thanks to Hacktoberfest contributions. That’s something that shows what’s possible when everyone chips in.

  10. graham-essays

📚 Download the full collection of Paul Graham essays in EPUB, PDF & Markdown for easy reading.

    Project mention: Facebook's Little Red Book PDF Download | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-12-02

Actually you can download the whole thing by using https://github.com/ofou/graham-essays , and then I imagine you can pipe it into pandoc or something of the sort to create a PDF. And then you can send that over to https://www.blurb.com/pdf-to-book or similar providers to get it printed.

When I attempted this once, I couldn't get the pages to be formatted nicely like a book, and the number of pages I ended up with was close to 1500 or something along those lines, which ends up costing you $100+ to print out with one of these services.

However I suspect that if someone were to typeset the essays nicely, it'd be an amazing coffee table book.
