pokered VS pokefirered

It has been a while since last, but that's because of compression algorithms and memory allocation issues, which had to be taken care of before writing the front/back images in Gen I and II. Ash didn't catch charmander. Charmander belonged to a different trainer who abandoned charmander. Ash came along and saved charmander and adopted him.. And it's still traded only. The rule was created specifically for the video games to prevent you from getting traded a really powerful pokemon from a friend and steamrolling the game. Whether or not the badge rule applies is based on whether or not the trainer I'd matches the pokemon's trainer ID. The game has been completely decompiled. You can literally check the source code and see the function yourself.

I tried to look into this a while back, I've been curious about what actually determines these odds. There's a disassembly of gen 1 to dig through. It looks like the SevenAndBarMode referenced here is the super lucky state, and AllowMatches and AllowSevenAndBarMatches looks like they're playing with odds. Can't fully make sense of how it works or how these get initialized.

I initially wanted to export all the original audio from the games rom as midi files. Fortunately my google-fu lead me to this a post on romhacking in 2014 where the PokeRed Poject rom audio has been disassembled to asm. Going through the list I noticed not all the audio is properly titled and some songs could be missing for example MtMoon and Cerulean city is missing.

Start by installing the pokered disassembly. You can then edit the game's data and code with any text editor. You can adjust the base exp given by a Pokemon by editing their base stats in data/pokemon/base_stats/. For more complex modifications you can adjust the experience gain formula in engine/battle/experience.asm.

Is the Pokemon Red's source code a reputable source? In the game, struggle has always been defined as a move along side all the other moves in every generation.

Definitely definitely look at doing your project as a decomp using pokefirered or The Complete Fire Red Upgrade.

Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire, Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald.

The quickest way would be to edit the decompilation. All the graphics are stored there as separate files there allowing you to easily replace them.

The "Person ID" is what I was referring to in my previous reply. You should write the ID of a flag there. Then make sure the flag is cleared if you want the NPC to appear and make sure it's set if you want it to not appear. You can find a list of valid and unused flags here.

Or use the pokefirered source code decompilation project.

You will have to program those mechanics into the game. You can do that by using the pokefirered decompilation.

If you're just now trying to get into romhacking, the best thing to do is to check out the pokefirered decomp project here. I have the most up to date video tutorial series for the decomps, I use pokeemerald in my tutorials but a large part of everything is the same. We have access to the full decompiled source code, so it's really easy to make changes to whatever you want and the workflow is practically identical to what the actual Pokemon devs would have been doing, whereas binary hacking, the old outdated method, is its own entire thing.

Weird question but, how do games which are coded like pokemon work? https://github.com/pret/pokefirered/tree/master/src for example this disassembly in c. Seems like each component has its own file, like battle.c or trade.c etc. How do these components communicate with each other? How and where does the main gameloop run? I would be very glad to get more info and write something like this game on my own (each component in own file, not pokemon 2)) ), because I'm not good at game architecture and cant resolve this on my own. thx in advance
