The visual rendering is done by Phaser. I have a working version using Pixi as well, but went with Phaser for arbitrary reasons. https://phaser.io/ https://pixijs.com/

Well, technically, Unity Web is JS + WebGL. But yeah, tools like Phaser could use more developers.
I want to develop a simple educational 2D game for iOS. How do I go about it?

Building a Roguelike Game with TypeScript

So I'm still decided to learn Unity and do a project with it. However, my C# knowledge is close to nil 😛. I've known about Phaser for a few years now, and stayed away from it for multiple reasons, the main one being that there really isn't a big community, compared to other engines like Unity or Godot. But currently, it's almost fully compatible with Typescript, which in my head, is acting like a stepping stone to C#. So I went it it.

It's actually an open-source game engine called GDevelop 5: https://gdevelop-app.com/

Making animations took almost a day. All sprites are 32x32 (except the intro and the ending visuals). Even by this point, not all animations are completed; just enough to get the programming part going! Now this is my favorite part. GDevelop is a heaven for a guy who couldn't code at all - like me! It's easy to understand, the community are helpful, and exporting a game is a simple one-click away!
Looped Devlog 3! 1 year of development. it seems it will take an eternity

I would like this opportunity to thank the GDevelop community and the fireside discord for helping me make this. This game is made with GDevelop 5 btw

Does anyone know to get the full version of construct 3
reddit.com/r/gamedev | 2021-09-26
Maybe try GDevelop instead?
I've checked the sidebar wiki/starter guide but I can't find an engine that suits my needs. This is what I need: 1. Completely free (so not RPGmaker, Construct or GameMaker Studio 2). 2. Easy to use, beginner friendly, visual programming.

You probably want GDevelop. Free, open source, visual programming, nice simple tutorials.

Im making a game!

Using a proper game engine makes it a lot easier and faster to make games, like unity, godot, or something really simple and easy to use like Gdevelop. We made our first games in school with Gdevelop and it was really fucking simple and easy to learn, as I already knew the scratch language wery fucking well. It's a 2D game engine and I really recommend trying it out if you want something more powerful that scratch and isn't confusing.
Game Engine for Simple Games?

Vary vary basic, without code and free? Maybe Scratch (node based). Not so basic, no code and free? GDvelop (event based).
