MicroBin v2 released
Plugin support is something that I've been dreaming of for a long time and actually made a draft verison a while back on this branch. Sadly all I managed to set up is a plugin that processes your uploaded text and I haven't worked on it since, but I would love to give it another go so and let people customise the heck out of MicroBin with plugins

Web-app solution to store messages behind a password?
You might want a pastebin service. I currently host Hemmelig and MicroBin. Hemmelig has built-in encryption so you can easily share sentitive text on the server. But I find MicroBin more appealing to my needs(it can also act as a URL Redirector) but lacking password protection. Since you're not exposing the service to the open net, I think that animal-name URLs can act as simple key phrase and is easier for personal usage.

Imgur won't work when I'm using my VPN
One of the things that always bugged me about image hosting services is that they're almost never open source. This very unlike Pastebin services where you have Microbin and PrivateBin. A lot of popular pastebin services either use PrivateBin or Rentry under the hood.

Hemmelig.app - Self hosted secret sharing application
Can you perhaps weigh in on how it is different from MicroBin?

Dell Wyse 5060 + TP-Link switch
Currently, it is running Home Assistant, Microbin and AdGuard Home. However, I got it yesterday so I will probably run more services as the time goes.

Could someone suggest a editable, no-account, password protected paste-bin?

Why I Like Obsidian
Tried Obsidian for a while, loved a lot about it, but....mmm.
Obsidian out of the box is a bit limited; plugins are great and add tons of features, but then you start hitting issues with plugin maintainers abandoning plugins you rely on, or needing to make a decision between three different plugins that all do the same thing slightly different. Depending on your use case and expectations that may not be a big deal, but I really missed not having what I personally saw as core features not being officially supported.
(Also, FWIW, the sync service is a bit pricy for what it is. I get that it's how they're trying to monetise it, but...I would have preferred another pricing model, even if the total cost was just as high.)
I've personally switched to Trilium Notes which I'm finding nicer. One element I particularly like is that it has first class suport for notes being able to exist at multiple places in a tree simultaneously. I know it's a very personal thing, but for me personally being able to file notes in multiple locations "clicks" in a way that tags didn't.

I move between machines a lot and prefer an online tool; I'm self-hosting Trilium Notes https://github.com/zadam/trilium ; this looks a bit cleaner but without syncing (or server-side storage) it misses a bunch of potential use cases.
