Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Why not just add support for QOI to image?
Image Compression Library
3 projects | reddit.com/r/rust | 9 Nov 2021
The image create is actually pretty good. It decodes a lot of stuff natively, and encodes to JPEG and PNG. I actually used it to make something very similar.
I'd like to write a program that combines images into .gifs, but in rust.

the image crate might be just what you're looking for. more specifically, the gif encoder can do exactly what you want.3 projects | reddit.com/r/rust | 17 Oct 2021
Use image to read individual images and gif to compose them into an animation.

I've used fits-rs before, but it lacks interop with the awesome image crate, so I only really used it for quick prototyping and then rolled my own fits parser.
Library for Simple Image Processing (resizing)

I would recommend using the image crate for any image manipulation.
Written in Rust wishlist?

https://github.com/image-rs/image has decoding support for WebP luma channel only. Could really use chroma decoding. There is a draft PR, but it's stalled.
Seeneva - smart comic book reader. ML powered speech balloons zooming.

Supports different image formats on any Android device.
Czkawka 3.1.0 - new version of my app to find duplicates, similar images, same music, broken files etc.
9 projects | reddit.com/r/DataHoarder | 9 May 2021
No, Czkawka uses Image crate which for now doesn't support such image type - https://github.com/image-rs/image/issues/1375
Making Maintaining Easier

First, let me explain a crate, where old dependencies do matter. There is one very handy crate called nshare. It's used for converting images into ndarrays. The libraries between nshare converts are regularly updated, for example to support new formats or to make the usage more convenient. If one writes a new software there could be conflicts in versions of ndarray (for example), so we make sure, that nshare is always up-to-date and works with the newest versions in order to build the best code on it. Another example could be everything cryptographic. If there would be a security issue with ring we really want every dependent to be updated.

Hey Rustaceans! Got an easy question? Ask here (26/2021)!

I have been using ggez for this kind of 2D game. Here's a simple "snake" I've made (probably not the best Rust code you are going to see, but it shows how this crate is easy to use).
Question about rust graphics libraries

I don't know of anything that formal unfortunately, but I do have a bit of experience with ggez. There are some example games in the repo here, and the README.md at the base of the repo also has template that should be a good starting point.
Is there any 2d only game library with high stuff. I think it would be light-er than bevy and won't crash my PC. Like pygame for python for an instance, supporting collision and stuff in Rust!!!!?

I've also used GGEZ and heard good things about Tetra.
