hey-wait VS foundry-pathbuilder2e-import

This is common in dungeon delves. Check out the Hey, Wait! package, or pause while narrating. But personally I like not using the megadungeon map. I often use room illustrations or renders of dungeon maps. Then slice out or redraw battle maps for the areas you do need the grid for (you often don't). Megadungeon maps are simple and functional for the GM to reference and easily tweak while improvising. Not beautified for the player's eyes.

I use the Hey Wait! module for traps and the like if they trigger them and its worked out alright so far.

This is frankly a level of paranoia that is foreign to me, but hey, it's your game. I tend to agree with Atro's skepticism about this being a necessary feature. Maybe someone will make a mod for it, beyond things like Hey Wait! and Not Your Turn! (both designed to limit player movement).

To pause the game when they step on it, you're looking for Hey, Wait!

Oh! Building! For that use Pathbuilder, there's a module to import from it. Much easier to just do one level at a time with the drag and drop for Feat Choices.
