Moulinette (specifically Moulinette Core + probably Moulinette Scanes, Tiles, and Image Search given what you mention). It provides an experience more similar to what you're describing to look for assets. I'm too finicky about my file compression to personally use it much - I'm a Filepicker Improvements stan myself as its ability to favorites to the filepicker suites me well - but a lot of folks love Moulinette for the experience you're after.

Basically, what I did was an effect that you activate on the token and automatically adds the +2 to the roll. If you need more help on this, you can always join the foundry discord and ask questions. Otherwise, this is my configuration (that is, for melee attacks).
