  • Suggestion about selfhosting Gmail backup + Webclient

I haven't tried it but extensively researched and it looks like this will be my way to de-google: - Mailcow dockerized - SoGo Frontend - Dovecot - Full-Text-Search - Ready for 100k + Emails - For GMail, add the getmail extension: - will pull email regularly, and at the time when you check mail - will remove email from gmail after a certain time (e.g. 2 days) - see discussion here - additional considerations: - I can merge all my email into a single inbox - I can keep sending through multiple out-boxes (e.g. gmail) - this will run internally, so if not at home, I can either connect via vpn or check mail at google, where it is still available - entirely flexible: I can add or remove external email providers as needed, on client computers, I only add a single email provider (my internal one)
  • How could I host a mail server with multiple TLDs and mailboxes, in a private network without exposing it to the internet?

I was looking into mailcow-dockerized with the getmail extension (also see #1554). This would function as a private mail relay server.
