Rowy: Open-source Airtable alternative on Google Cloud

no, i missed that one when i was searching, but from the homepage and a quick glance through the docs it doesn't seem like it does what i need. what i want is something like react-data-grid [https://github.com/adazzle/react-data-grid] but with a backend component that handles collaborative updates. essentially a stripped down and actively maintained alternative to ethercalc [https://ethercalc.net/]
baserow had a lot of what i wanted, but the top-level feature set seemed very oriented towards a db admin tool rather than a programmatically managed user interface to single tables or views.
Collaborative table editor component?

Well, to be fair Libre Office online exists. However, I believe EtherCalc is faster.

There is an online/in-browser (read: Google Docs) office suite that is open source and self-hostable called OnlyOffice. This might work for you if you have a machine elsewhere where you can run the server and just use the office suite from your browser.

Ask HN: Open-source office suite other than LibreOffice?

I tried onlyoffice[^1] once. Its interface seems nice to me, but unfortunately it can't handle bengali[^2] unicode characters, which I use a lot.

Is Microsoft Office 365 different from Microsoft Office 2021?

Another free alternative is onlyoffice.
windows fanboys when you make one comment about linux

Linux aside, Office 365 is a complete ripoff and extreme overkill for anyone except for connected offices. Certainly has no place as a home office suite. I knew I couldn't convince my neighbor to blow out Windows when I helped her with setting up her new computer. She just subscribed to Office 365 because Microsoft guides people in to signing up for it when they set up their machines. They believe they have to because they aren't aware of alternatives. I installed Only Office https://www.onlyoffice.com/, showed her that her files open just fine and has the exact same interface as office. There are very suitable open source solutions(Krita for digital painting, Only Office as a MS Office clone) if people only knew about them. Certainly would fit most people's needs professionally without the subscription BS from Microsoft and Adobe. Microsoft fanboys though in general have Stockholm Syndrome. He clearly enjoys getting ripped off.

OnlyOffice - a free Microsoft Office suite, that looks incredibly simmilar to Microsoft Office. It's hard to coax people over to libreoffice because it looks so dated, but managed to convince a bunch of people to go with only office over crazy MSOffice license costs (replaced word, powerpoint an excel - if you need outlook this wont help).
Is there a way to Paste as an Image... Match o365 functionality

Hi! I regret to inform you that this feature is not available in the ONLYOFFICE editors. However, if you really need it, you can request this feature on GitHub: https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/DocumentServer/issues

Your options are: * OnlyOffice - which has some compatibility challenges * Libre Office - which has some compatibility challenges * Dual booting windows - perfect compatibility but kind of annoying * Run windows in a VM - but I’m not sure what performance would be like and it’s not the most seamless experience * Something exotic like Winapps - which may be challenging to set up but could be the most seamless
