endless-sky VS alephone

Sounds very similar to Endless Sky[1] - another open source game drawing on the old Escape Velocity games. I really enjoyed both Endless Sky and the Escape Velocity games, so I'll have to check out Naev at some point!

#2 - Endless Sky - ALSO inspired by Escape Velocity, but IMO this is more polished Escape Velocity clone and could reasonably be called the modern successor. EXCELLENT space trade/piracy/combat and definitely take some good strategy to get far into the game.

It's amazing you can run this on any Mac still with https://alephone.lhowon.org/

You can play the original Marathon(s) on Mac, Windows, and Linux now thanks to Aleph One [0]. There's also new scenarios for the engine still being released, like Apotheosis X which came out last year [1].

Marathon. Bungie doesn't sell the game anymore, but they did upload it to the internet. I linked to Aleph One Sourceport instead though since the original doesn't work on Windows natively.

The originals are free and work on mac, pc and linux. If you have an xbox there is one there too. https://alephone.lhowon.org/
