curated-code-cad VS OCCT

Currently I'm using OpenSCAD (w/ BlockSCAD as a front-end: https://www.blockscad3d.com because I prefer a sort of visual representation), but have been stymied by the lack of file I/O (I want to write out G-code).

Still looking for a 3D modeling tool which is:

- a node or block editor

From 2018 through sometime 2020 there seems to have existed two projects surrounding 3D modelling in CL, Tovero as libfive bindings and Clive as some sort of scene graph with a 3D GUI as per this description from a random git commit I found:

I tried using python scripting with FreeCad's 2d constraints mechanisms, which I had high hopes for but found it to be too difficult. I did a decent write up about it here: https://github.com/Irev-Dev/curated-code-cad/pull/8

So have I have this project of writing a geometric kernel, something in the vibes of Opencascade : https://dev.opencascade.org/

What is this opencascade open source cad. The only thing I find is freeware (not open source) stuff at https://dev.opencascade.org

They integrated OCCT, so they do now have code to read STEP as part of the code base. Yes, I am aware it is tessellated right now (which is the obvious first step to make it work), but that can be changed in future. Point is: they now have at least half of the necessary code available.

The only thing coming to mind is https://dev.opencascade.org/ - it was the original kernel of the ipad app shapr3d.

Also, FreeCAD is built on the OCCT library and it inherits many of its limitations from that. Ideally, a lot of issues should be fixed in the library and FreeCAD would automatically be improved. Unfortunately, and I could be wrong, but I don't think FreeCAD developers have much influence on what happens at OCCT, apart from filing bug reports and such.
