OpenSCAD: The Programmer's Solid 3D CAD Modeller
OpenSCAD has been great for simple projects. It’s very easy to get productive with if you know basic programming concepts. However, I’ve run into frustrating limitations on more complex projects. The core geometry engine is skittish.
I still use OpenSCAD, but I’m diving into the OCCT ecosystem. It has a steeper learning curve, but seems to be significantly more robust.

Best language to bind with (C++, Rust, others ?)
So have I have this project of writing a geometric kernel, something in the vibes of Opencascade : https://dev.opencascade.org/
- Any recommendations for a simple solid modeling API library? Preferably C or C++

What is this opencascade open source cad. The only thing I find is freeware (not open source) stuff at https://dev.opencascade.org

PrusaSlicer 2.5 beta1 is out and it can import STEP files directly!🧡 So you can skip exporting and sharing STLs completely when it comes to mechanical parts.
They integrated OCCT, so they do now have code to read STEP as part of the code base. Yes, I am aware it is tessellated right now (which is the obvious first step to make it work), but that can be changed in future. Point is: they now have at least half of the necessary code available.

3D library for engineering calculations.
The only thing coming to mind is https://dev.opencascade.org/ - it was the original kernel of the ipad app shapr3d.
