FreeCAD
This is the official source code of FreeCAD, a free and opensource multiplatform 3D parametric modeler.
I would look at the GitHub issue tracker and the official forum to see the bugs and feature requests that have already been identified. That'll give you a better idea of the overall wants and fixes that are needed.

OCCT
Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) is an open-source software development platform for 3D CAD, CAM, CAE. This is a clone of the official repository located on https://dev.opencascade.org/. Please use official development portal for registering issues and providing patches.
Also, FreeCAD is built on the OCCT library and it inherits many of its limitations from that. Ideally, a lot of issues should be fixed in the library and FreeCAD would automatically be improved. Unfortunately, and I could be wrong, but I don't think FreeCAD developers have much influence on what happens at OCCT, apart from filing bug reports and such.
