bypass-paywalls-chrome VS Pi-hole

Might just be me on mobile, but I do use Bypass Paywalls along w/ uBoock Origin on desktop.

I don't see anyone mentioning Bypass Paywalls. It lets you bypass paywalls on most mainstream news outlets. It's a must-have for me and I wish it was available for Safari.

- It uses clone of a static list of paywalled websites sourced from a popular Chrome extension. (https://github.com/iamadamdev/bypass-paywalls-chrome/blob/ma...) So changing the paywall list is slow and manual.

This is how I built my edge server that grants access to my home networks that connect to my IoT devices like my cameras running on [Raspberry Pi Zero](https://blog.beckitrue.com/post/tech/motioneyeos/). It uses [Cloudflare tunnels](https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-one/connections/connect-apps/) for remote access, so it has no open ports to the world, and Nginx as the reverse proxy to the camera network. As a bonus, it's also running [Pi-hole](https://pi-hole.net/) to block ads and other undesirable sites from the IoT network.

I just run pihole at home, two birds: circumvents these blocks, but also no more ads in websites and mobile apps

I just came here to say one thing: pi hole ...and I know that in some EU countries this is not allowed(wanna say Germany) but sure as hell saves you a whole lot of ad blocker headaches

Install a local DNS app, eg: Pihole. This pihole can be installed on devices such as a Raspberry Pi or any SBC that can run Linux OS, or an android box that has Armbian OS firmware installed..

Pi-hole (with every reasonable blocklist I can find) protects me from many of these domains. NextDNS would be another option for DNS-based blocking for people who don't want to administer it themselves. I also plan to use DNSTwist to generate additional blocklists for typo-based phishing that I can plug into the Pi-hole for important sites.

You can also build a pi-hole which will still allow your device to receive updates but block everything else. Just need a cheap raspberry pi computer.
