Windows Update vs. My Router
I disabled Windows Updates two years ago, right after I installed Windows 10. Never gonna turn them on. Fuck you Microsoft. Read too many horror stories. Not updating. Dont ask me.

WIndows 10 disk usage goes to 100% 1/2 of the times I run a computer, what has happened?
Some people are telling you to get an SSD. Yeah, that's cool, but what if you don't want to, can't, etc.? Therefore this is the solution with what you have: disable everything that doesn't serve a purpose. Uninstall all you can. I've had this problem on and off for a year and I've finally fixed it, use these: You need to disable, mainly, three things: Windows Defender and all its secondary stuff (Antimalware Service, etc.). Use this: https://github.com/qtKite/defender-control (disable all you can manually first). Windows Updates: try this: https://github.com/WereDev/Wu10Man if it doesn't work try this: https://www.wintips.org/how-to-turn-off-windows-10-updates-permanently/. Unnecessary Windows Services (look for a list of those in some search engine, you'll get around 20 that are practically useless for everyone). Then, also: Debloat with this: https://github.com/builtbybel/bloatbox (everything you can, Microsoft Store, XBox, all that nonsense, many of those you can uninstall manually). Disable Cortana, Windows Search, all that nonsense.

How is Piracy going over on Linux?
I'd say dual boot, keep the shitty windows for games and use for linux normal use,a lot of programs ain't compatible with linux so you're gonna face problems with a single boot setup. You can force stop windows updates using something like this .I've heard that you can run some games through WINE. Anyways, good luck.

Off topic (but alarming) PSA for all Windows 10 powerusers: Windows Defender July Update appears to force delete legitimate files (including entire zip files) containing content from famous copyright case
https://github.com/WereDev/Wu10Man + OOSU10 + some registry tweaks = no defender, and updates only when you want to.

Two sides of people not being able to upgrade to Windows 11
If you are already on 11 and are frustrated with how it works, Bloatbox, Win Utility and Shutup10++will get rid of most bloatware, make essential tweaks to make it usable for productivity and turn off Microsoft's overeach. Just make sure to watch a few tutorials first as you can quite easily fuck up your install if you don't know what you are doing.

Bloatbox deletes bloat on windows 10. Just be sure to take a look at the apps it'll delete before doing it, you may be using stuff like OneNote.

Can we please get rid of the articles from the "WIDGETS" tab? Or get an option to disable them.

After running like 6 different debloat scripts...700MB of RAM on idle!
For those asking for the scripts, here they are: Remove preinstalled applications Remove preinstalled applications (this one has GUI) Set services to manual (Can also remove applications) Uninstall MS Store Disable Windows Defender As my people in the comments have pointed out, don't run all of them unless you want to break your system later on.

Is it worth removing the built in Windows 10 crap ( weather, xbox, onedrive, maps etc...) or just disable telemetry and live with these useless apps for me?
