I've had this problem on and off for a year and I've finally fixed it, use these: You need to disable, mainly, three things: Windows Defender and all its secondary stuff (Antimalware Service, etc.). Unnecessary Windows Services (look for a list of those in some search engine, you'll get around 20 that are practically useless for everyone). Then, also: Debloat with this: https://github.com/builtbybel/bloatbox (everything you can, Microsoft Store, XBox, all that nonsense, many of those you can uninstall manually). Disable Cortana, Windows Search, all that nonsense.

I'd say dual boot,keep the shitty windows for games and use for linux normal use,a lot of programs ain't compatible with linux so you're gonna face problems with a single boot setup.You can force stop windows updates using something like this .I've heard that you can run some games through WINE.
