- What 3d printer should I buy? I been using the ender 3 for a long time and want to switch for a better one, my budget is around 500 dollars what would you recommend?
-
my friend is considering buying this printer but i can't identify it , is it good ? He planning on upgrading it.
The A8's were responsible for a few housefires due to not having thermal runaway activated in the firmware, there are much much better printers available these days, one printer that is built the same as this but is based on the Prusa MK3 is the Sovol SV-06 and is a very good machine https://sovol3d.com/products/sovol-sv06-direct-drive-3d-printer

Mk4?
And even then, there are plenty of clones with comparable (and even slightly better) features for less than half the price.

Height SV06 Plus w/o Spool holder?
Hey they have models here https://github.com/Sovol3d/SV06-Fully-Open-Source

Did I make a mistake getting an Ender3 printer?
You print the replacement part on a different printer, order it directly on the aftermarket, purchase it from the manufacturer, or have it print over a print service, as the entire assembly has been published by sovol. https://github.com/Sovol3d/SV06-Fully-Open-Source

Maker’s Muse SV06 review
The files provided from Sovol are replacement models for the parts on the printer that you could 3d print or source elsewhere from what I understand https://github.com/Sovol3d/SV06-Fully-Open-Source . The One-Stop Shop https://github.com/bassamanator/Sovol-SV06-firmware/tree/master provides some updated klipper (custom firmware) configs that seem to work well on the sv06 and that same person is trying to gather info on the electronic parts of the machine as well so we can replace the parts as needed if something breaks and don't need to wait on Sovol to reply to source a replacement https://github.com/bassamanator/everything-sovol-sv06 . I personally would love to contribute to the teardown but this is my first 3d printer and I am not nearly knowledgeable enough to begin tearing this apart fully. I likely will to grease the bearings but mine seem to have avoided the issue that has plagued numerous others and will try to document things then.

Broken Rail Support
No need to take measurements Sovol have open sourced the parts and provided STL’s, you can find them here.

SV06 Plus, Klipper issues
I followed this guide, skipped the installation step as the screen already comes with a Klipper installation. Removed everything inside /home/mks/printer_data/config and pulled the repo as instructed, but:
- ⭐ Printer profiles have been added for the SV07 and SV07 Plus to the One-Stop-Shop PrusaSlicer config bundle. ⭐

SV06+ Klipper Help
Anyone run into this? I sent an email to Sovol, waiting on a response, thought I'd ask here too to see if anyones run into this? Are the bed dimensions stored in the firmware somehow? Sorry not familiar with how this all works yet, wondering if I should try flashing this firmware https://github.com/bassamanator/Sovol-SV06-firmware/tree/sv06-plus

Installed wrong firmware on SV06 plus
I tried to install klipper using this guide, but I used the releases page instead of downloading the tree for the SV06 plus, so I accidentally put sv06 firmware on my sv06 plus
-
Klipper Adaptive Meshing Purging (KAMP) added to OSS Klipper Configuration.
Well the OSS currently supports any printer actually, so technically speaking, you can go ahead and install the OSS for your printer.
- I just bought a sovol sv06 (not my first 3d printer hut my first sovol one) and I was wondering about some good upgrades you guys would recommend.
- Can you help me dicide between SV06 and SV07?
