Syncing Kodi across multiple devices
I used to do that, now I use Plex (running in a docker container on a machine under my stairs) and the Plex Kodi Connect (PKC) to sync my Kodi database to my Plex database. Best of both worlds
- PLEX only buffering on a Nvidia Shield (high bitrate files)

There must be a better plex client then Nvidia shield!
That being said, there are other client apps for Android: you can try Kodi, and use this plugin: https://github.com/croneter/PlexKodiConnect to use it as a Plex client. It is definitely much faster than the Plex app, and the setup while intimidating, is actually simple.
