NonSteamLaunchers v2.0 - Update adds support for "Move to SD CARD", small fixes for shortcuts and the Updater.
Can you utilize addtosteam.sh with this similar to how heroic did?

Patience is key when you're new to Linux.
I've previously used Heroic Bash Launcher for that. It generates a script that opens the game in exactly the same way Heroic does, and you can then add the script as a non steam game.

Sideloading troubleshooting success story
The EUREKA moment came from a thread for CIV IV on a random Heroic Launcher Github thread. https://github.com/redromnon/HeroicBashLauncher/issues/38

Steam Rom Manager and non-steam shortcuts
Works for me with Lutris shortcuts and some native Linux games I have installed. Herioc shortcuts needs an extra step using Heroic Bash Launcher

Problems setting up Hitman 3 via Heroic Launcher in Game Mode
You're probably better launching through heroic and not directly using proton. This project looks like it might add all your heroic games to steam automatically: https://github.com/redromnon/HeroicBashLauncher

Really disappointed in GOG
Use Heroic Launcher (find in desktop mode via discover (flatpack)). Install Windows versions to take advantage of Steam/Proton. Sync saves using Heroic Launcher too (be careful the feature is currently in Beta, but working fine for me in D:OS). Install the shortcut in your steam library using Heroic Bash Launcher, job done.

We have Heroic for Epic and Gog, but is there anything for Ubisoft Connect and EA Desktop/Origin?
For heroic installed games, i used https://github.com/redromnon/HeroicBashLauncher to add steam shortcuts for individual games.

I'm back with a new guide. This time, I worked on a complete starter guide for all first-time Steam Deck users. I've tried my best to cover all the basics and help you get going the moment you get your Deck. I plan to regularly update the post, so if I missed something, I'll get back to writing.
But for Heroic, afaik you need this, though I am still working on the guide and can't 100% confirm.

Is getting a Xbox one controller a good idea for steam deck docked gaming?
There is a way to make it work with this https://github.com/medusalix/xone There are tutorials in this subreddit. I’ve done it and it was noticeable better than Bluetooth IMHO.

WELCOMING ALL THE NEWBIES!
For example, I have some old Xbox One controllers that don't have Bluetooth and an Xbox Wireless Adapter, I got them working with the xone driver.
